PHILOSOPHY

Founded on the Gold Coast in 2017 by Simone Ainsworth, Seamone is an independent Australian label born out of a deep admiration for the sea and an equally strong fascination for fashion. Our philosophy is to create luxurious, comfortable and multifunctional swimwear pieces, with an ecological conscience. So that all women may feel sophisticated, sexy and sensual without sacrificing style, nor sacrificing the environment. With a deep and intimate connection to the special places we are free to express and enjoy ourselves wearing swimwear. Here at Seamone we believe that swimwear isn’t just something we wear to serve the purpose of swimming in style…. It’s what we wear, when we are serving our mind, body and souls purpose. Our second collection SURRENDER, Crafted in premium Italian fabrics and introducing an exciting new technology that microencapsulates skin-nourishing antioxidants including Vitamin E and Aloe Vera.... works as the body activates the material, allowing the skin to be hydrated, soft and luminous. A simple collection with thoughtfully placed panels, quality handmade trims and romantic lingerie inspired tailoring. These limited edition separates spread over a romantically luxe palette including our new Antioxidant Infusion 'Sea Black', our gorgeous 'Sea Blue' and 'Sea Wash' magically made from recycled fishing nets and of course our much anticipated exclusive print 'Sea Jungle' that visually depicts our story of Surrender. Designed for those in an uninhibited and fearless pursuit of liberation and love.

Exuding a whimsical and romantic aesthetic, Seamone Swimwear is designed on the glorious Gold Coast, Australia. Our Patterns are all original and expertly cut in-house, fitted and refitted until the most superior shapes are achieved. Our exclusive prints are either designed by our Swimwear Designer Simone or commissioned through artists she personally admires the most. Our exquisite collections are then meticulously handmade in the peaceful, nature based island of Bali, Indonesia. Committed to ethical business practices, we truly value our role in the employment and well-being of our local artisans. It is our goal to contribute positively to the staff at our boutique factory and the communities in the area so that we are involved personally as well as professionally in Bali. We regularly visit ‘The Island Of The Gods’ through our sampling process and to over see our small limited edition productions. Considering it a second home… we are custom to the traditions, belief systems and grounded way of life on this sacred island. Open to all social, cultural and environmental issues of managing our label both in Australia and Bali. The journey to create each Seamone piece takes patience and dedicated ‘island time’. Religion is an important part of our life in Indonesia and all rituals and celebrations are respected and practiced as a priority, within and around the production of our swimwear. We pride ourselves on the premium quality of our beautiful pieces, and we are very grateful for all the hands and hearts that contribute to making our ideas and dreams into a reality.
We are passionate and genuinely conscious about improving the efficiency of this industry while caring for the land, air and sea throughout our operations from design to delivery. From waste to wear, our innovative swimwear collections feature fabrics created from post-consumer nylon waste such as old magic carpets and fishing nets that litter our oceans. Simply explained, recovered nylon waste is recycled through a depolymerisation process that returns it to its natural clean form. With a fresh start the Nylon is then transformed into textile yarn and woven in Italy to produce the highest quality two way stretch 100% regenerated Lycra. This superior swimwear fabric is 100% regenerable infinitely, combining sustainability with the most advanced textile technology. We can enjoy our time in the ocean knowing that the swimwear we are wearing was transformed from litter that we would otherwise be swimming in. Seamone’s elegant and timeless pieces are not designed to just last a season… but many. With longevity and superior resistance a key desire against damaging effects from exposures such as harmful UV rays, chlorine and sun lotions. Our fabrics also feel incredible on the skin while sculpting the body and perfectly retaining its shape. We have only just embarked on this remarkable journey and are so inspired to learn more about this industry as we continue to slowly grow. We founded Seamone only after we had researched and sourced the worlds most eco-conscious fabrics, eco-conscious operations and eco-conscious team of people. Not only is our swimwear materials considered, we look at all areas within our business including our packaging, in which we use Avani eco bags. Made from 100% renewable bio-based cassava plant starch. These non-plastic product bags are naturally compostable and biodegradable, safe to consume for land and marine animals, because of their ability to dissolve in water. Discover more about our sustainable packaging HEREWe look forward to promoting the importance of protecting our oceans and shores. We welcome new ways to improve our sustainability, in and out of the office. We hope to collaborate with like minded businesses and individuals to make a positive change in the fashion world. Also give what we can back to the environment with a major focus on marine conservation by donating to causes we respect and believe in supporting.
Our new fabric microencapsulates skin-nourishing antioxidants including Vitamin E and Aloe vera.... to beautify and soften the skin when it is most needed. The sun can strip skin of moisture and expose us to harmful free radicals. This incredible new technology fights the suns effects through deep hydration via antioxidant infusion. The body activates the material, allowing the skin to be hydrated, soft and luminous. Aloe Vera has been used for centuries in ancient medicine, for its healing and rejuvenating properties. As a natural source of polyphenols, which hydrate, nourish and accelerate skin renewal. The miracle plant can soothe sunburns, moisturise the skin and reduce infection. The infusion of powerful beauty antioxidant vitamin E in our fabric helps to protect your skin against environmental pollution and UV radiation. Vitamin E is also known for boosting the production of collagen and repairing damaged skin. The vitamin also contains powerful anti-inflammatory action, preventing the signs of premature ageing.
At Seamone our creativity doesn't just stop at designing swimwear prints and patterns, our vision expands further to the beautiful women who wear our unique pieces and the environments that compliment the emotion of our label. With a goal to tell our story through stunning visuals, our photography style is raw with a touch of fantasy. Our talented swimwear designer Simone Ainsworth is also our in-house Seamone photographer, with her beautiful work shared across our website and social media. With a unique style of photography and a passion capture those intimate moments of natural movement and expression. Her process is to connect with her muses, observe and photograph models interacting naturally with their natural environment. Follow her at seamone.photography on Instagram.
